The Patriotic League of Uganda’s mobilisation for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 2031 presidential bid has gained further momentum in the Teso Sub-region following the official handover of presidential endorsement books to regional coordinator Hon. Peter Ogwang.
Hon. Ogwang, who also serves as Minister of State for Education and Sports (Sports) and Member of Parliament for Ngariam County, received the books from PLU General Secretary Rt. Hon. Twalla Fadil at the organisation’s National Secretariat in Naguru.
He was accompanied by Mr. Richard Elimu, Secretary of the PLU Teso Committee, as the regional leadership prepared to roll out the endorsement exercise across the sub-region.
A total of 11 endorsement books were received for distribution across the 10 districts and Soroti City that make up the Teso Sub-region. District coordinators are expected to oversee the exercise within their respective areas as PLU expands its nationwide endorsement campaign.
Speaking after receiving the books, Hon. Ogwang expressed confidence in Teso’s mobilisation efforts and pledged to have the endorsement exercise completed within two weeks, after which the books will be returned to the PLU Headquarters.
The handover comes as PLU continues to intensify its nationwide campaign to build support for Gen. Kainerugaba ahead of 2031. Earlier this month, the organisation launched an online endorsement platform to complement physical mobilisation and provide supporters with an additional avenue to register their support.
With the endorsement books now headed to the grassroots, Teso becomes the latest sub-region to step up participation in PLU’s growing 2031 mobilisation drive.
