Leaders from Uganda’s organised workers’ movement on Wednesday visited the PLU National Secretariat in Naguru to officially receive endorsement books as the nationwide 2031 endorsement exercise continues to gather momentum.
The delegation brought together leaders from the National Organisation of Trade Unions (NOTU), the Central Organisation of Free Trade Unions (COFTU), and the NRM Workers’ League, led by Hon. Arinaitwe Rwakajara, Workers’ Representative in Parliament and Chairperson of the NRM Workers’ League.
The endorsement books were officially handed over by PLU General Secretary Rt. Hon. Twalla Fadil, paving the way for the exercise to be extended through organised workers’ structures and networks across the country.

Also present at the handover was Government Chief Whip Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, a member of the PLU Central Committee, who joined the workers’ leaders and PLU leadership during the engagement.
The workers’ delegation becomes the latest organised group to take up the endorsement exercise as PLU continues to roll out books to regional leaders, institutions and different sections of society.
The engagement also reflects the growing coordination among NOTU, COFTU and the NRM Workers’ League, whose leadership has continued to work together on matters concerning workers’ participation, representation and national development.
With the books now officially received, the workers’ leadership will take the endorsement exercise to its respective structures as the broader mobilisation continues across the country.
