KAWEMPE — The Patriotic League of Uganda today launched the Kawempe Division endorsement drive for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 2031 presidential bid, bringing the campaign into one of Kampala’s most politically active divisions.
The launch brought together PLU General Secretary Hon. Fadil Twalla, Deputy Director of Mobilisation Hon. Henry Basaliza, Kawempe coordinators, mobilisers and supporters for an engagement focused on organising the division’s endorsement programme.
The General Secretary used the occasion to engage the Kawempe team on the wider national exercise and the responsibility of local structures in carrying the campaign into communities across the division.
Hon. Basaliza joined the General Secretary and the local leadership during the launch, as attention turned to coordination, mobilisation and participation at grassroots level.
Kawempe is part of the broader Kampala programme covering the capital’s five divisions; Kawempe, Central, Makindye, Nakawa and Rubaga.
For Kawempe, today’s launch was less about ceremony than organisation: the national leadership met the division team, opened the exercise and set the local structure in motion for the work ahead.
