NAGURU — Members of the Inter-University Guild Leaders Network on Tuesday, September 29, paid a courtesy visit to the PLU Headquarters in Naguru, where they held discussions with General Secretary Hon. Fadil Twalla before endorsing Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for President in 2031 and beyond.
The engagement brought together student leaders under the Inter-University Guild Leaders Network for discussions on leadership, youth participation and the role of university leaders in national affairs. The delegation was received by the General Secretary as part of the Secretariat’s continuing engagements with organised groups from different sectors of the country.
Following the meeting, the student leaders formally added their endorsement to the ongoing 2031 exercise, joining a growing number of organised groups that have visited the Secretariat in recent weeks. The endorsement forms part of the wider campaign currently being coordinated through PLU structures across the country.
The Inter-University Guild Leaders Network has previously brought together student representatives from a range of higher-learning institutions to discuss leadership, peace, student welfare and national development. Earlier this year, its leadership held engagements involving guild leaders from institutions including Makerere University, Gulu University, Uganda Christian University, Kyambogo University and Makerere University Business School, among others.
The visit also reflects PLU’s continued engagement with young leaders and higher institutions of learning, recognising universities as important spaces for leadership development, public dialogue and the preparation of future national leaders.
With Tuesday’s endorsement, the Inter-University Guild Leaders Network becomes the latest organised leadership group to visit the PLU Headquarters and take part in the ongoing endorsement exercise for Gen. Kainerugaba’s 2031 presidential bid.
